Mercruiser Maintenance Recomendations

Mercruiser Marine is one of the world’s largest marine propulsion manufacturers. Every 100 hours or annually (which ever occurs first) Mercruiser recommends:
- Touch up paint on the power package
- Change the engine oil and filter
- Change the drive unit gear oil
- Tighten the gimbal ring U-bolt nuts to the specified torque
- Replace the water separating filter element
- Clean or replace the IAC Muffler (MPI Models)
- Check the steering system and remote control for loose, missing or damaged parts. Lubricate the cables and linkages
- Check the continuity circuit for loose or damaged connections. Check the Mercathode unit output on Bravo models.
- Clean Flame arrestor
- Clean and check crankcase ventilation hoses
- Inspect the condition and the tension of engine belts
- Check and grease wheel bearings
