Mercruiser Maintenance Recomendations

Mercruiser Marine is one of the world’s largest marine propulsion manufacturers. Every 100 hours or annually (which ever occurs first) Mercruiser recommends:

• Touch up paint on the power package
• Change the engine oil and filter
• Change the drive unit gear oil
• Tighten the gimbal ring U-bolt nuts to the specified torque
• Replace the water separating filter element
• Clean or replace the IAC Muffler (MPI Models)
• Check the steering system and remote control for loose, missing or damaged parts.  Lubricate the cables and linkages
• Check the continuity circuit for loose or damaged connections.  Check the Mercathode unit output on Bravo models.
• Clean Flame arrestor
• Clean and check crankcase ventilation hoses
• Inspect the condition and the tension of engine belts
• Check and grease wheel bearings
