Emerald Bay State Park
The summer boat in campground at Emerald Bay is something any Tahoe enthusiast should do. Tucked away in Emerald Bay and fairly protected from wind, this is a great way to spend a weekend.
There are tremendous hiking opportunities and trails to explore. Vikingshom is right there for tours. The campground is located on the North side of Emerald Bay, which is the site of the Emerald Bay Resort.
There will be some planning required to enjoy the stay. Overnight parking around Lake Tahoe is limited, however, campers with reservations can launch at D.L. Bliss and may park their vehicle overnight in the Balancing Rock overflow parking lot with a valid camping receipt displayed in the vehicle. Most of the time the camp sites are first come first serve basis. June 12th the camp spots will be on reserve and reservations can be made at www.reserveamerica.com.
There are buoys available, plan on having a way to secure your boat to the buoy, preferably with a buoy line.
